We have extensive knowledge of radio communications system vendors and network operators, including LMR, 3G, 4G, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, GPRS, iDEN, Satellite Fixed, Satellite Mobile, GPS and telematics. Our staff has many years’ collective experience in the standardization, design and deployment of these systems (both within and outside the context of Smart Grid) and with detailed current knowledge is exceptionally well placed to provide vendor appraisal and assist in processes relating to RFP, RFQ etc.

We understand the internal processes that lie behind utilities’ technical planning and purchasing decisions and can provide high-quality planning and analysis services that are solidly based in real life experience of deployments having capital value anywhere up to one billion dollars.

Regulatory and Grant Assist Environment

Celergy was early in the field in its research and commitment to the Smart Grid sector and has in-depth knowledge of the State and Federal regulatory environment and the policies and processes by which the Federal Government is supporting Smart Grid initiatives. We have applied this knowledge and been able so far to assist one utility in obtaining a substantial award.

Communications Network Design and Project Planning

Celergy combines a clear understanding of required communications services (field, including emergency operations, SCADA, mobile radio, building security, other remote asset management, AMI and core networks (fiber optic, microwave, etc) with the practical understanding, knowledge and experience of designing and deploying communications networks. We will take the network services, if necessary define them in more detail, and then scope out a communications network that will meet the requirement.

We will take account of security, reliability, operational service needs and priorities, other overlaid services, such as security and authorization, provisioning, operations and maintenance. From there we will come up with a detailed network topology and site map, specify equipment and set out the detailed deployment plan to dovetail network upgrades into existing services and ensure a smooth and even cut-over.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

Celergy has the reach and the capacity to take on major AMI deployments. We will undertake the logistics and installation of meters at domestic, commercial, industrial, government and military sites. We will plan, design and install the communications networks associated with those AMI roll-outs, and install the central server equipment needed to operate the system.

Project Management

Our project management staff ranges from PMO officers to those who have run PMO offices for multinational corporations. Project Management lies at the heart of Celergy’s competitive strength, whether we are running a Celergy deployment project, or augmenting our clients’ PMO office. We are able to provide staff on a short- or long-term basis and at any level up to and including appraisal and upgrade of PMO systems and processes.

Project Implementation

Project Implementation is Celergy Networks’ longest-established line of business and remains its largest activity. Whatever the project or initiative, eventually if anything is going to happen, it must translate into purchasing, cabling, construction, logistics, installation, integration, commissioning, provisioning, operations and maintenance. These are the areas where “the rubber meets the road” and someone has to deliver something. That “someone” is Celergy.
