Art Cormier, President and CEO

Mr. Cormier joined Celergy Networks as an investor and consultant in 1999. Currently, he serves as President and CEO. Prior to his involvement with Celergy Networks, Art founded and served as President of Phase Metrics. From 1989 to 1997 Art built Phase Metrics into one of the leading test equipment suppliers for the data storage industry. Art holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. Art served in the United States Marine Corps.

Liberty E. Mann III, Chief Operating Officer

Liberty E. Mann joined Celergy Networks in July 2007 bringing with him, over thirty years of operations management experience. Prior to joining the Celergy team, Mr. Mann was COO of Corrosion Engineering Services (Now, BAE Systems, Maritime Engineering Services). In addition to his leadership in new business development, Mr. Mann was responsible for the overall operations and fiscal performance of the company. Mr. Mann has twenty-nine years of experience in surface ship principal systems operations, maintenance, and repair as well as progressive management experience in all aspects of IT Technical Services and Marine Electrical systems. He has also accumulated twenty-five years of experience in instruction and curriculum development for both the military and civilian communities. He also has over twenty years of experience in organizational development and human resource management, including ISO 9001:2000 and Total Quality Management programs.
 
After retiring from the United States Navy, Mr. Mann worked for the San Diego School District as a multiple-subject teacher. He moved on to the private industry to serve as a Vice President for Integrated Systems Analysts and Corrosion Engineering Services. Mr. Mann has held senior management positions in the industries of engineering, computing & technology, and IT cabling services for military and commercial clients. He is a member of the Retired Officers Association, San Diego Teachers Association, and the U.S. Naval Institute.
 

Dr. Gary Hawkins, Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Hawkins has been in the wireless industry for over twenty years and joined Celergy Networks as Chief Technical Officer in 2009. Prior to joining Celergy, Dr. Hawkins was Vice President of Product Management – Infrastructure with NextWave Wireless. While at NextWave Wireless, he was the lead point of contact between NextWave and a number of third party infrastructure vendors, including Huawei Technologies that were implementing NextWave’s unique WiMAX MXtv technology.

 Prior to NextWave, he held senior positions with a number of companies including Littlefeet, LCC International and Orange. Dr. Hawkins received his Ph.D. in Satellite Communications from the University of Bristol, England and his BSc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, England. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and is a registered Chartered Engineer.

Martin Greenwood, Executive Vice President Smart Grid Sector

Martin W Greenwood has 25 years’ experience in the telecom sector, having been Chief Designer for Nokia’s cellular base stations and later Systems Marketing Manager for complete systems where he handled the game-changing $200M+ deal towards O2 (now Telefonica). Through subsequent COO and GM positions, he established cellular data company Symmetry Communications in Europe and built it to $20M, managed growth and subsequent trade sale of design house Symbionics for $65M, and oversaw the turn-around and trade sale of telecom systems vendor Zenitel UK. He has founded a start-up integrating WiFi into GPRS and 3G services (sold to Intel) and has most recently been providing mobile TV services at international sporting events. Martin was awarded his top-ranking engineering Masters degree from University of Cambridge, England.

As VP Business Development for Celergy’s Smart Energy business, Martin provides a strong combination of all-round technical skills and knowledge, as well as many years’ experience in the commercial provision and management of technical client services.

Terry Golden, Senior Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Golden has been with Celergy Networks since March of 1998 when Celergy Networks acquired his prior company West Coast Tel-Data Group. Terry was one of the two original co-founders of West Coast Tel-Data where he served as Vice President of Operations from 1986 to 1998. Prior to founding West Coast Tel-Data Terry worked for Inter-Tel from 1981 to 1986 where he served as Installations Manager and Service Manager.

Terry began his career as a field level technician for TCI from 1977 to 1981 where he worked on and installed many PBX and Key Systems including 1A2 before moving into management in 1981. Mr. Golden currently holds over (85) distinguished certifications and licenses in the fields of communications. He became a BICSI certified RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Design Engineer) in 1996 a distinction recognized as one of the highest levels of expertise in the field of communications.

His background consists of more than 30+ years of experience and covers all aspects in the engineering, design and implementations of VoIP/Digital/Analog Voice/Data Components, Audio/Video, IP/Digital/Analog Security, CATV/CCTV, RFID, 802.11 Wireless LAN/WAN Technology, (OSP/ISP) "Outside/Inside Plant" Designs, Public Address (P.A.) Systems, Fiber-Optic Technologies and Structured Cabling including all types of Commercial, Campus and Military installations. Mr. Golden has been instrumental in working with our GSA customers such as the Marines, Navy, Air Force and Army. He often donates his time in participating and providing on-going training classes for our US Military men and women.

John Maggio, Vice President Regional Sales

Mr. Maggio has been in the telecommunications industry since 1966 and with Celergy since March of 1998 when his prior company, Tel-Data Group, was acquired by Celergy. John has held positions ranging from installer / technician to Vice President of Operations / Engineering with a host of companies including General Telephone, ComPath, Alltel, Tel-Plus Communications and Siemons. Moving from Operations to Sales in 1994, John has managed the sales and implementation of systems for Mattel Toys, Toshiba America Information Systems, Bridgestone / Firestone USA, Cisco Systems, e-Plus, Westfield America, Constellation Energy Group and many others. John attended the University of Maryland and UCLA and is a Vietnam era veteran of the United States Air Force.
